Essential oils preferably organic:
2 drops neroli
2 drops bergamot
2 drops ylang ylang
3 tablespoons of Celtic sea salt
I tablespoon of organic Olive oil
Dried rose and mint petals and leaves (optional)
A self care moment and much needed emotional reset doesn’t need to be time consuming and a big deal to prepare.
If we included many small self care moments throughout the week instead of thinking we need to organise ‘a whole day off to go to the spa’, we may reach the end of our week in better shape.
I include this very simple bath practise quite regularly. If you don’t have a bath, prepare the same recipe and dissolve it into a warm foot bath instead. Relax and cover your eyes with something soft on the couch and remove your senses from the world around you for at least 10 minutes.
In my quick herbal bath recipe, I use 2 tablespoons of good quality Celtic sea salt, it’s purifying and keeps your skin healthy, a few drops of essential oils – today I used ylang ylang, bergamot and neroli which is roughly blended into a tablespoon of organic olive oil. Essential oils should be diluted into a little base oil to stop any irritation as they’re very strong. I once sat down, bottom first, into a hot bath full of undiluted frankincense oil, which I will never do again! I also add some dried rose petals and mint if I have it around.
Fill your bath, pop the salt blend in and TURN OFF THE LIGHTS. Sensory deprivation is very helpful. Relax and zone out for a while. Plants are your friends.
